Hey, Beautiful!
We live in a culture that glorifies the grind. We are taught that if we aren’t pushing, striving, and doing, we are falling behind. We measure our worth by our productivity and wear our exhaustion like a badge of honor.
But recently, I escaped to the Gulf to disconnect. As I sat there, soaking up the stillness with the salty air in my hair and my toes in the sand, my intuitive mind had a realization that I need to share with you.
I brought a book with me—A Happy Pocket Full of Money—and dove into the chapter on Quantum Physics. As I watched the waves roll in and out, I realized that the spiritual peace I was feeling and the hard science I was reading were actually describing the exact same thing.
It turns out, rest isn’t just “self-care.” It is a biological and energetic requirement for receiving what you want.
The Biology of the “Pause”
As a Registered Nurse, I see the toll that constant stress takes on the body. When we are in “grind mode,” our sympathetic nervous system is activated. We are running on cortisol and adrenaline. This is our survival state—fight or flight.
Biologically, your body is prioritizing survival, not creation. You cannot heal, digest, or rejuvenate effectively when your body thinks it is being chased by a tiger (or an overflowing email inbox).
But here is where the science gets spiritual.
Quantum Physics & The Art of Surrender
In A Happy Pocket Full of Money, it explains that everything is energy. To bring something new into your life—whether it’s health, abundance, or peace—you have to be on the vibrational frequency of that thing.
Here is the catch: You cannot transmit the frequency of “Abundance” when your nervous system is broadcasting the frequency of “Survival.”
When you are desperately chasing something, you are energetically saying, “I don’t have this.” You are vibrating at the frequency of lack.
But when you stop. When you breathe. When you surrender to the moment and just be—like I did by the water—you shift your nervous system into the parasympathetic state (rest and digest). You signal to your body and the Universe that you are safe.
Surrender is an Active State
Surrender often gets a bad rap. We think it means giving up or being weak. But in reality, surrender is an active state of creation. It is the act of clearing the resistance so that what you have been praying for can actually flow to you.
You have to stop fighting the current to let the tide bring in what you need.
So, if you have been feeling guilty for needing a break, consider this your permission slip from a nurse who knows better.
Rest is productive. Stillness is where the magic happens.
Take a deep breath. Trust that you are supported. And let yourself simply be.
